Jess’s love of nature and the outdoors led to her dual Masters Degrees in Natural Science and Environment and Natural Resources. She has shared her enthusiasm for connecting others to the earth, working for the National Park Service and the National Audubon Society. She brings this love and connection with the earth into her yoga practice and innovative yoga-nature workshops. “I love mountains, the feel of dirt and grass on the soles of my feet, sunshine on my face, and the sound of wind through the trees. I love the earth and our connection to these wonders that take our breath away; that we can’t always explain. I believe yoga and the environment are inextricably linked; our connection to self, our connection to something greater.”
Jess is also the co-founder of the Healthy Life Studio in Casper, Wyoming and co-creator of Yo-Ching(SM). Her, and business partner, Mind-Body Coach, Abigail Steidley, opened this cutting edge studio emphasizing the profound benefits of deep mind-body practices. After suffering from chronic low back and SI pain through her mid-20’s, being told she would probably need long-term pain management, Jess found relief through mind-body practices such as meditation, yoga, self reflection, and time in nature. “I had a very physical realization that experiences and emotions are held in the cells of our physical body. As we make deeper connections to self, these experiences unfold, unwind, and release creating space for unimaginable healing and opportunities.”
Jess is also a certified Level III Reiki Practitioner.
